Apple Bay is a local favorite and a surf spot when the conditions line up. It is exposed and there are no moorings, so it is not a stop for charter boats — but it is an easy taxi over the hill from Sopers Hole or Cane Garden Bay and worth the trip. Sebastian’s and the Sugar Mill are the draws, with bingo and karaoke at Sebastian’s on Thursday nights and live music on Saturday. The sunsets here are some of the best in the islands.

- Surfers show up when the swell is running — this is a local break, not an anchorage.
