Oil Nut Bay sits around the corner from Saba Rock, tucked in behind Bitter End at the eastern end of North Sound. It is the quiet end of the sound โ a resort area rather than a bar strip โ with Nova as the restaurant and good protection once you are in. The run around from the main part of the sound takes longer than the chart distance suggests when the trades are up, which is part of why it stays quieter than the rest. Worth the trip for dinner even if you are moored elsewhere in the sound.
Good to know
- Around the corner from Saba Rock and behind Bitter End. Allow extra dinghy time in a stiff trade, and expect to get wet.
- Nova is the restaurant here. Reserve ahead rather than turning up.
- Ten reservable and ten first-come moorings in a small field โ book ahead in season.
- Quieter than the rest of North Sound, with the same good protection.
