Bitter End Yacht Club has been a staple of the BVI for decades and has rebuilt at the eastern end of North Sound. Deep water, excellent protection, and a full-service marina where plenty of charter boats tie up for the night rather than swing on a ball. Several restaurants and bars ashore, a proper beach, and swimming as good as anywhere in the sound. The water sports operation runs small catamarans for racing along with the rest of the kit, which puts it at the family end of the sound alongside Leverick. Of the 70 moorings here, 20 are first-come and 50 are reservable directly through BEYC.
Good to know
- The 50 reservable moorings are booked through the Bitter End Yacht Club website on their own system, not through the BoatyBall app. Twenty more are first-come.
- Full-service marina with dockage, and a common choice for charter boats that would rather tie up for the night.
- Small-catamaran racing and the rest of the water sports run out of here; Saba Rock is the kite and efoil part of the sound.
- Deep water and excellent protection, with several restaurants and bars within walking distance ashore.
