The Bight is Norman Island’s main anchorage and one of the best-known stops in the BVI. Seventy-four first-come moorings — none of them in the BoatyBall program — sit in a deep, very well protected bay, and the depth invites larger yachts in much the way North Sound does — you will often see charter boats and big yachts sharing the same water.
Ashore and afloat there are two institutions: The William Thornton — the Willy T — and Pirates Bight. Both are a short dinghy ride from anywhere in the bay.
The Bight is also the natural base for two of the BVI’s best snorkelling sites. The Caves are on the western shore of the bay itself, and The Indians are a short hop away.
None of the moorings here are part of the BoatyBall program, so you cannot reserve or pay for them in the app.
