Good to know

Privateer Bay is the small bay west of The Bight, just down from the Caves. Eight first-come moorings sit in the bay itself, with six National Parks Trust day moorings out front of the Caves. Crewed boats anchor here in the right conditions. The water is excellent โ€” good snorkeling and a fine place to hang off the back of the boat. In the evening, once the day traffic to the Caves clears out, the bay goes quiet in a way The Bight never does. Most charter boats don’t come here, which is the point.

Good to know

  • The six moorings off the Caves are Parks Trust day moorings โ€” day use only, 90-minute limit, no overnighting.
  • Eight first-come moorings in the bay itself, none reservable.
  • Evenings go quiet once the Caves traffic clears. A good choice if you want isolation without leaving the area.
  • Weak cell signal and no WiFi.
